I am currently the Sports Editor at the national-award-winning, 118-year-old Arizona Daily Wildcat student news outlet, serving the University of Arizona and greater Tucson communities. I have diverse experiences, both in life and career, that have given me unique perspectives on the world of sports which would be beneficial to any outlet in need of my services.

I am not a traditional student by any measure; the road I have traveled to get to this point has not been easy. It started with seeing the ups and downs of the college basketball recruitment process as a successful high school player myself. It continued as I spent more than half a decade in leadership positions within the U.S. Air Force. I became a father along the way, before returning to college, again finding my place in sports – this time not on the court, but from the vantage point of content producer and distributor – as I worked toward both my bachelor’s (May 2017) and master’s (May 2018) degrees.

My passion for sports  was present the entire time, but it was my passion for a career in sports that only intensified once I was able to see the sporting universe from a different vantage point – not athlete, not fan, but as someone aiming to bring these incredible games, unforgettable experiences, and transcendent personalities into the lens of sports fans of all ages, backgrounds and interests in new, exciting and innovative ways. From my time working in athletic events operations at Kansas State University to now, I am proud to say I have learned to communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders, while creating an environment that supports the pursuit of excellence no matter where I go.

I draw from my time in the military and continue to learn from anyone who can share wisdom. Nothing exemplifies this more than my time at The Daily Wildcat. I have been fortunate to lead a team of young reporters to several accolades, both individually and as an organization, due to the depth and breadth of our truly multi-angle, multi-platform coverage on one of the more prominent college sports campuses in the nation. As Sports Editor, I have implemented several ways to promote our news and other content both digitally and through social media, reaching new audiences in new ways each and every day.
